The: fundamental thrust of this week of mission is to proclaim the reign of God and invite respon- se. This response en- courages and streng- thens community. The mission team will begin by preaching at all parish masses the week- end of the thirteenth and the mission proper lasts from Sunday night until Thursday night. Each service is about an hour long with a discussion after. On Wednesday there is a special celebration of the sacrament of Re- conciliation and Thurs- day is concluded with the Eucharist. " The two fathers who will be leading the mis- sion are Fr. Darrell Mc- Ginn, C. Ss. R. and Fr. Michael Brehl, D.Ss.R. . Father Darrell is a Maritimer from Saint John, N.B. He was or- dained in 1971, and spent his early years of priesthood in New- foundland preaching missions and retreats and working with the poor. In 1974 he came to Toronto to work with students studying for the priesthood. At that ' time Father Darrell also began graduate studies in Scripture and receiv- ed his doctorate in 1982. He also brings a lively interest in music to his work as a Redemptor- ist. Father Mike and his six brothers and _ sis- ters grew up in Toronto. After graduating from the University of Toron- to, he joined the Re- demptorists. Discussion will follow the evening missions 'over coffee served in the Parish Centre. A Mission marks a time of special Gospel preaching and intense prayer held periodical- ly in Catholic congre- gations.
