Congratulations _to you all for your efforts to keep: your homes and and 256 and at.; gardens beautiful. To the other fifteen and the rest of us who didn't make it to the starting line - better luck next year. In many ways it was ' not such a great growing year, especially when the bugs combined with the weather to keep us out of the garden. Never mind, the efforts to keep our town beautiful were very evident when going round doing the jud- ging. Our meeting last Wednesday was attend- ed by seven people. Peter Monks present- ed a slide show which started in England with stately homes and gar- dens, travelled to New- foundland, on to this area_and finished up 'with "Christmas bulbs"' - in Salt Lake City. On Wednesday No- vember 7 we shall be holding our Annual Gen-. eral Meeting at 7:30 p.m. At present we do not have a meeting place scheduled so please watch for notices telling you where it will be held. We desperately need people to help run the Society. Don't be put off by the grand name. If you have one house plant or one window box and no garden, you still qualify. Remember - now is the time to start preparing your gar- den for next year. Hope to see you at our Annual Meeting.
