Blueberry Festival Blueberry pickers from all over Northern Ontario will be heading. for Obatanga Provincial Park on August 10th to 12th for the Annual Oba- tanga Blueberry Fest. The Blueberry Fest has three days of activi- ties for pickers. Park Superintendent Wally East said that they are planning to have every- thing from an outdoor square dance, a blue- berry pie eating con- test, to a blueberry pan- cake breakfast. "As many blueberry pickers know, the blue- berries can be picked for most of the month of August, so we have de- clared August 3rd to 19th as_ Blueberry Days," said Mr. East. The reason for the good blueberry harvest, is the large areas of jack pine forests that were logged 10 years ago around the park. Obatanga Provin- cial Park is located on Highway 17 fifty-six kilometers west of Wawa and thirty-seven kilometres east of White River. m time Front ice cream to sour cream, Palm makes it good in Thunder Bay.
