A few starlings would accompany them for a short distance, and then return in wide jerky arcs to the feeding bank, looking for any crumbs that were overlooked. One day I threw what was left of a soupbone out for the dogs but ravens captured it. They fought over it. When the dog managed to get a hold on the bone and started to trot down the street, the raven teased him until he dropped the bone. The raven grab- bed it by some gristle attached to the side.
