As part of our ongoing programme to publicize the work of the Queen and the institution which she graciously represents, the League sells to its members, sheets of colour stickers of Her Majesty wearing both the Order of Canada and the Canadian Order of Military Merit. This by-law sets aside four parking spaces in Terrace Bay for the exclusive use of handicapped people who hold special permits issued by the Chief of Police. Parking by others is prohibited and violations carry a $25.00 If you are part of the fortunate majority, please give us your co- operation by not using these parking spaces. Consider how easy it is for you to take those few extra steps which could present an insurmountable obstacle to a handicapped person. Just a little good will from each of us will allow our less mobile neighbours to enjoy the same convenience we do. Two of the spaces are located on Simcoe Plaza, one on each side of the sidewalk ramp between the Bank of Commerce and Costa's Food Market. The other two are on Selkirk Ave., beside the ramps leading to the Recreation Centre. All are identified by special signs. If you are a handicapped person, which includes someone suffering from a temporary condition or injury which limits mobility, contact the Police Department to obtain a permit to use these spaces.
