The -Robillard car was westbound on high- way #17 when it collided with the moose. Robil- lard was uninjured, and the moose escaped into the bush. The Ford re- ceived about $8000 in damage. On July 4 a two car collision took place on the Kingsway in Schrei- ber. The accident oc- cured 0.7 kilometres west of Quebec Street. The Wilson vehicle was westbound in the north lane of highway #17 which has four lanes at that point. The Wilson vehicle made a left turn into the south west- bound lane and was struck on the left side by the Vachon vehicle. The Vachon vehicle re- ceived about $500 in damage and the Wilson vehicle received about $1500 in damage. Wil- son has been | charged with failure to signal. There were no injuries. On July 6 at 10:25 a.m. a three vehicle collision took place on the Kingsway in Schrei- ber at the foot of Walker's Lake hill. A 1977 Chev driven by Rosemary C. May of Schreiber was signalling a turn into Travel Rest Trailer Park from High- way #17 when it was hit in the rear by a 1973 Buick towing a 1967 Holiday camper trailer and driven by Lawren- ce Parks of Calgary. The Parks vehicle was in turn rear ended by a 1968 Ford station wagon driven by Loise Irene McEathon of Calgary. Parks was charged with following too close. The May vehicle re- ceived $3800 in damage, the Parks vehicle $1900 in damage, and the Mc- Eathon vehicle received $500 in damage. Also on July 6 at 11:30 a.m., a two car colli- _ sion took place in down- 'town Schreiber. A 1976 Chev driven by Peter Robert Cudmore of Lon- don, Ontario was parked in front of Spadoni's Department Store on Scotia. The Cudmore vehicle pulled out from the curb and was struck in the left front by a 1976 Plymouth driven by Barba Smart of Schrei- ber. The Cudmore ve- hicle received $1000, and the Smart vehicle received $400 in dam- ages. There were no injuries. On July 8 a delivery van owned by Schreiber Food Market struck a 1976 Mercury driven by Rosetta Commisso. The Commisso car was driv- ing down Ethel Street when the delivery van, driven by Neil William O'Connor of Schreiber, reversed from a drive- way and hit the Com- misso vehicle. The dri- ver of the delivery van has been charged with failure to yield under the Highway Traffic Act. In another accident on July 8 which affected telephone service in Ter- race Bay for several hours, a 1978 White tractor trailer unit dri- ven by Harvey G. Wood- ting of Dryden brought down a set of overhead wires. The accident oc- cured 0.3 kilometres east of Quebec Street in Schreiber. The top of the load on the flatbed caught in the overhead wires and tore them down. The tractor trailer unit was subsequently taken to Terrace Bay and checked by the OPP. The unit was found to be within the allowable height and weight regulations and no charges were laid. On July 9 another tractor trailer unit dri- ven by Randy Hender- son of Hamilton backed into a light standard in the parking lot of the Villa Bianca in Schreib- er. No damage was done to the truck, but the light standard sustained $2200 in damage. A two vehicle colli- sion took place on July 10 .4 kilometres west of Quebec Street. A 1970 GMC pickup driven by Peter Crupi of Schreiber entered highway #17 from Winnipeg Street and collided with the left rear of a 1980 GMC pickup driven by William R. Thompson of Pays Plat. There were no injuries, but Crupi has been charged with failure to yield. A two vehicle head on collision took place on the Zenmac Road on July 13. A 1980 Chev van driven by David Michael Rigg of Thun- der Bay collided with a 1983 Chev van driven by George S. Chomaki of Thunder Bay. Both ve- hicles are owned by Mel Murdoch Ltd. of Kirk- land Lake. The van driv- en by Rigg had $300 in' damage and the Cho- maki vehicle had $2500 in damages. On July 14 a single vehicle accident took place 4 kilometres east of White Sand Lake on highway #17. A 1983 Dodge driven by Donald E. Young of Terrace Bay was west bound, when the driver lost control of his vehicle. The car roll- ed and struck a restrain- ing barrier and then rolled a second time. The new car received $11,000 in damage. Young was admitted to McCausland Hospital with major injuries. The Schreiber OPP have not yet concluded their in- vestigation into the acci- dent and no charges have been laid.
