Arena Recreation Program Thanks to a Sum- mer Grant we will be offering a full rec- reation program in the Arena. Notice to Slow Pitch Participants There has been some questions on what rules are in ef- fect. The rules are the same as softball with the following excep- tions only. Slow Pitch Baseball Rules [Men's] Pitch 41. Underhand and must be arched at -least higher than bat- ter's head during de- livery. Strike 1. Ball must hit plate or batter must swing at ball. 2. No strike zone. 3. Batter is allowed 4 balls and 3 strikes - foul ball on third strike, batter is out. Plate 1. Dimensions - 17" wide x 4' long. Ball : 1. Regulation _ soft- ball or slow pitch ball Team 1: Ten players on field at one time - rover is used. 2. Players must be 18 years of age or over. 3. Must not be partici- pating in Men's Fast- ball League 4. Batting order is used and followed - no pitch hjtting 5. Team list must be submitted prior to season. Base Rules 1. Bases are regula- tion distance, 60" apart. 2. No lead-off or steal- ing bases. 3. Ball must be hit before you leave the base. Length of game 1. Either 7 or 9 in- nings. Bunting 1. Playground and Swim Program The time is quickly approaching for the Playground and Swim programs to commen- ce. Watch for com- plete details soon. July 1st celebration The recreation of- fice is co-ordinating the weekend activi- ties and would ap- preciate hearing from any group or _ indi- vidual planning an event. The program is nearing completion and we would like to include your activity in our program and advertising. Slow Pitch Baseball Slow Pitch Fever High In Terrace Bay The sport of Slow Pitch in Terrace Bay as in many cities and towns has become one of the main summer recreation programs for adults of all ages. The Men's League has four teams parti- cipating and games are held on Monday, Wednesday and Sun- day at the High School Field. Double Headers are played beginning at 6:30 p.m. Rules are the same as the Men's League. Drop by one of the fields and watch a game or two.
