Page &, Terrace Bay-Schreiber News, Wednesday, June 8, 1983 St. Martin's wins bicycle rodeo | St. Martin's school won the first place trophy in the Bicycle Rodeo con- ducted by the Terrace Bay Police force on Saturday; May 28 at the Arena. The Rodeo is an annual event and forms the final part of the bicycle safety program conducted in the Terrace Bay schools by the local police force. Over 90 competitors turned out on Saturday morning to steer down a 30 foot line 6 inches wide, ride figure eights and take the pylon test. Rodeo organizer, Constable Wes Fenton, said that he was very pleased both with the turn out and the skill exhibited by the young riders. "We got a real good response, and we are planning an even bigger and better Rodeo next year." Constable Fenton said that in addi- tion to the driving skills test taken at the Saturday Rodeo, the students also wrote a skills test in school. The Legion, the Moose, the Lion's Club, the Fire Department and the Red Dog Inn all helped sponsor the event.
