He is on the staff of the Dry- den High School now and also Mayor of that community. Mrs. Prina Gerow has left to holiday with friends in Sudbury. Lakehead visitors during the week were Mrs. Chas. Todesco, Mrs. Bill Hubelit, Mrs. Jack Campbell, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Gerow, Mr. and Mrs. Nick Bain. Mr. and Mrs. Amedi Prairie of Dryden were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Gerow recently. Mrs. Prairie is the Rossport Notes former Evelyn King, born and raised here. Welcome Evelyn on see- ing you again. The Hall Committee met Sunday evening for their monthly meeting. It was chaired by Mrs. Prina Gerow and Lor- raine Sepala was the secretary. The main topic on the agenda was to make plans for an open house and tea at the end of May to cele- brate the renovations on the Community Hall. The hall has had new siding on the exterior, new entrance built with a new kitchen, wash- rooms and a bar added. Everyone is welcome to the event. Some new furnishings for the building were discussed and the equip- ment in storage to be re- garding purchasing a speaker system for the hall which is badly need- ed for entertainment. Four male persons were added to the working committee - namely Peter Gerow, Bob Col- linson, Danny Legault and Joe Campbell. The meeting was held in the Community Hall. The Firefighters group held a _ special meeting to come up with suggestions and plans for their booth on Derby weekend in June. Work- ers time is-to be stagger- ed so that relief can be had. No team of workers will be left too long manning the booth. The meeting was chaired by Mrs. Pat Campbell. Plans were discussed as St. Martin of Tours As part of its contribu- tion to Family Unity Month, St. Martin of Tours Church will be sponsoring a seminar on natural family planning. The seminar will include the sympto-thermal and temperature and evalua- tion methods. Speakers will be Dennis and Mary Jo McDermott of Thunder Bay who are with the SERENA Natural Family Planning Movement. The Serena Movement, which re- ceives government grants, is a unique ser- vice oriented toward the development of the couples so that they can undertake the responsi- bility for their fertility as a couple. This is an approach which opens the way to a positive view of family planning. Serena goes far beyond the application of a technique by moti- vating couples to take responsibility for their own development. It rallies all the resources of the human person. Serena also provides information to teenagers through participation in, family life programs. The seminar is open to all married and engaged couples and to anyone else who is interested. It will be held on Friday, May 13 from 7 to 9 p.m. at St. Martin of Tours Church Hall. Mrs. Hilda Mushqush is a patient in Nipigon Memorial Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Jose- phine and Ray Kenney attended the funeral of the late Mrs. Grace Bruley in Thunder Bay, Monday morning. Mr. and Mrs. J. Flem- ing and family have left to reside in Schreiber. Ned Basher of Duluth has purchased the Ross- port Inn and is busy renovating and redecor- ating the property. We are all looking forward to having the business in operation again. It is an old landmark of the village and almost a hundred years old. A specialty on the menu was the lake trout and blueberry pie dinners.
