From left to right: Alain Zborowski, Paul Malashewski, 'Hockey awards banquet The Schreiber-Ter- race Bay Intermediate Hockey Club Banquet and Dance was held Saturday, April 30, at the Schreiber Recreation Complex Community Hall. The Banquet attracted close to 120 people, who enjoyed a splendid meal provided by the Anglican Church Women. The meal was followed by the Annual Awards presentation. The Most Valuable Player award went to Paul Martin. Lawrence McParland scored the most points during the season, while Terry Dale Ross, Lawrence McParland, Terry Hanley and Larry Ross. Hanley received the award for being the Most Gentlemanly Play- er. The Best Defense- man was Dale Ross and the Best Goalie was Alain Zborowski. In the Team Mate Category the winners were Paul Martin for the Annual spring clean-up in Terrace Bay and Schreiber The Annual- Spring Clean-up gets underway this week and while homeowners are getting ready to rake up a winter's accumulation of gravel, leaves and branches the Public Works crews in Schreiber and Terrace Bay are getting geared -up to haul the debris away. Schreiber Clerk Aurel Gauthier said that the Town crews would be at work hauling the debris from May 9 until May 27. "'We pick up just about anything on the curbside except derelict vehicles." "If there is a fair bit of rubbish, it's preferable that they give us a call at the Munici- pal Office and we will see that it is picked up."' "It is hauled out to the dump and disposed of there. It would help if material like metal could be separated from the other rubbish."' "'The Clean-up is separate from the regu- lar garbage pick up." "We have had com- plaints about derelict vehicles coming to some members of the Council. The owners of the dere- lict vehicles have been notified and requested to cooperate with the By-Law. The Council will review the response later and take whatever action is called for at that time."' Terrace Bay's Spring Clean-up Campaign starts on May 11 and runs for a week till May 18. Starting May 11 the Public Works crews and the trucks will be continued on page 8 Terrace Bay Public Library The students of Holy Angels School present Schreiber Kinsmen Vice President Jack Cline with a contribution of $431.57 towards the Kinsmen Annual Cystic Fibrosis Telethon. Holy Angels School celebrates Education Week Holy Angels in Schreiber celebrated Education Week with a full schedule of events. The week began with a School Mass for the students and staff. The students shared in the Mass with their hymns, petitions, and gifts as well as taking part in the readings. The special Mass was followed with a Dress-Up Day on Monday. An Open House was held on Tuesday after- noon and the Grade Eight pupils hosted a Tea at the same time. The pupils worked to- gether to produce post- a ae fs ers on the theme of Education which were displayed throughout the school. Friends visited each class where various activities were being presented. On Wednesday after- noon the children watch- ed the Dress Rehearsal for the choir's presenta- tion of Joseph and His Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat. The Play was presented to the public on both Wednes- day and Thursday even- ings. In addition the pupils from Grades One to Eight were divided into groups to prepare presentations for the student body. Staff and pupils were delighted with the result which included a Muppet Show, Dances, Fashion Show, Skits, Circus, Magic Show and Recita- tions. . On Friday afternoon a Cystic Fibrosis Fund Raising drive was held. The Grade Seven pupils were in charge of this event 'which concluded the Education Week activities. $431.57 was raised and a cheque was presented to Jack Cline, Vice President of the Schreiber Kinsmen, on behalf of the students continued on page 10 Part of the cast of 'Joseph and His Wonderful Technicoloured Dream Coat'. The play was put on by the Choir of Holy Angels School as part of their Education Week activities. The cast played to a packed house on both Wednesday and Thursday of last week.
