Terrace Bay Recreation News Flea Market: There will be an in- door Flea Market, Garage Sale on May 14th at 1:00 p.m. Re- sponse is excellent. The doors open to the public at 1:00 p.m. Drop by and Buy, Trade or Browse. Set up time for those with tables or half-tons is from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Remember the flea market is for old items in storage that are no longer any good to you. Clean out the garage, basement, spare room and partici- pate. We have extended the deadline to May 12th to reserve space for a table or half ton. Call 3542 today. North Shore Challenge: National Physical Activity Week: The Terrace Bay Recreation Department urges all citizens to participate in National 'Physical Week by supporting the following events: Monday , May 16th: "Fun, Run, Walk, Bike, Hop" - our Annual "'North 'Shore Chal- lenge" 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. - 1 mile course. All per- sons are asked to meet in front of the Recre- ation Centre at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 17th: "Nutritious Food Dis- play" - 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. in the Multi Purpose Room of the Recreation Centre. Wednesday, May 18th: "Let's Get Involved" All activities at the Terrace Bay Recreation Centre from 7:00 to 9:00 p-m. are free to the public. Introduction, demonstration rules and a chance to try the activity if desired, will be available during this time. Resource persons will be available. Squash Court starts at 7:00 p.m. sessions every half hour. Racquetball Court - Starts at 7:00 p.m. sessions every half hour. Bowling Alley - Starts at 7:00 & at 8:00 p.m. learn to score, rules etc., and a chance to try a game. Multi Purpose Room -' 6:30 to 7:00 p.m. Aero- bics with Lyn Black, 7:00 to 7:30 p.m. Gymnastics with Betty Tate and guests. 8:00 to 8:30 p.m. Jazz & Ballet with Pamm Turner/ Pankevicz and Cathy Dolph. There will be an open meeting on May 19th in the Conference Room at the Recreation Centre. It is an open session for anyone 16 years of age and over. The time is from 7:00 . p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Teams will be selected random- ly from thsoe present. Try the activity it is a great way to stay in shape throughout the summer. Approximately eight members from "'Tops" attended the weekend Annual Rally in Thunder Bay. Mr. and Mrs. Bud Andrews are back from their trip to Toronto. Mr. and Mrs. Scott are back from their vacation to many points. Mr. and Mrs. Mullins arrived back from their vaca- tion. Get well to George Walsh in hospital in London, Ontario. The Figure Skating Bingo will continue all summer in the Town Hall every Tuesday. Rev. Father Delaney and Mrs. Delaney and Judy Cooper were dele- gates from St. John's Church to the Synod of the Diocese of Algoma in Sault Ste. Marie. A new bishop was elected at the Synod. He is Father Les Peterson from Parry Sound. The new bishop will be con- secrated in Sault Ste. Marie. Provincial Parks Neys and Rainbow Falls Provincial Parks will both officially open on June 3, 1983. Prior to this date, both parks will remain closed to vehicle traffic. Walk-in camping and day use opportu- nities remain available. Rossport Provincial Campground is open for free camping and day use, but will not offer any facilities or services. White Lake Provincial Park expects to be open and provide basic ser- vices at reduced rates-as of May 20. If services are not available, free use will be permitted. Roller Skating: Only 3 weeks away is the opening of Roller Skating. 100 pairs of skates will be available for rental. They are Special times will be arranged for Dress up, Adult Night, Family Time.
