Terrace Bay-Schreiber News, Wednesday, May 4, 1983, page 11 Terrace Bay Recreation News Men's Slow Pitch There will be a Men's league for anyone 18 years of age or older and it will begin the last week in May. We are still accepting names. There will be four teams participating. Mixed Slow Pitch One night per week will be set aside for this league. The league is pen to any male or female 18 years of age or older. If a group of friends wish to enter a team you may do so. There will be a very important meeting on Tuesday May 10th at 7:00 p.m. in the Multi Purpose Room to dis- cuss the formation of the league, rules and the selection of teams. If you are_ interested please attend or call the Recreation Office to register. Minor Baseball Pro- gram The Minor Ball pro- gram once again will be offered if sufficient in- terest' is shown and volunteer coaches and umpires are available. The leagues are as fol- lows: T Ball - boys and girls - 5-7 years; International League - boys - 8-10 years (hardball); Ameri- can League - boys - 11-13* years (Hardball); National League - boys - 14-16 years (Hardball); Blue Jays League - girls - 8-14 years (softball); Expos League - girls - 15-17 years (softball). The deadline to register is May 9th. We need volunteer coaches, um- pires for the six week program. If you are interested in assisting with a division please indicate on the bottom of your son's or daughter's registration form. Ball Hockey Interest has been ex- pressed in starting a Men's Ball Hockey League and a Youth Ball Hockey League. Ball Hockey is very similar to hockey with the excep- tion that there is no body contact and a ball is used. The Men's League is well under way with one complete team regist- ered to date. If you are 16 years of age or older and wish to participate call the office at 3542. All participants must be Recreation Members. There is no other fee involved. The night of the week will be Thurs- day from 7-9 p.m. Games will be one hour in length. The season will begin on May 19th. Your own equipment is required. Persons inter- ested may register by calling the Recreation office. ' Youth League Ball Hockey for the youths from the ages of 9 to 15 years will begin Recliners and new Slumberline Glide Recliners. Also an excellent variety of lamps. DEPARTMENT STORE Family Fashions... Schreiber from fabrics to furniture, all under one friendly roof. Dishwashers May 17th at 7:00 p.m. in the Arena. Participants must be _ recreation members in order to take part in Ball hockey. Summer Recreation Program The response to our survey on "What would you like to see at the arena this summer?"' has been excellent. The aforementioned pro- grams are a result of the survey. Possibly the fol- lowing programs will al- so be offered this sum- mer from the Arena - Adult Volleyball; Adult Basketball; Minor La- crosse; Youth Drop In; Youth Volleyball; Rol- ler Skating. _ If you haven't com- pleted a Questionnaire they are available from the Recreation Office. Attention Fitness Room Users Please note that ef- fective Monday May 2nd until further no- tice (approximately 3 weeks), the Fitness Room will be reserved from 3:45 to 5:00 p.m. Monday to Friday, for the Lake Superior High School.
