This Municipal Park will feature a multi-pur- pose wooden play- ground structure, pic- nic benches, a sandbox and other play areas. Come on out and give us a hand. Schreiber Minor Base- ball The Schreiber Parks and Recreation Depart- ment will be offering a minor baseball program to Schreiber Youth during late spring and early summer. Regis- tration forms will soon be circulated to school children. The baseball program however re- quires volunteers for coaching and certain executive functions. A general meeting has set for Wednesday May 11 at the Schreiber Rec- reation Complex Art Room from 7:00 to 8:30 p-m. All parents and interested individuals are encouraged to at- tend. For additional infor- mation please contact the recreation office at 824-2317. Schreiber Scribbles by WINNIE CAMPBELL Welcome to Schreiber Pat and Devona Lei- sander from Rossport. On Tuesday, April 26, the Grade Eight class of Holy Angels School held a Tea in conjunction with Education Week. Entertainment was pro- vided by the Grade Two class and the Senior Choir. Door prizes were won by Mrs. Pina Com- misso and Mrs. Vene- ziano. The Draw was won by Edith Figlio- meni. Grade Eight would like to thank the parents and friends who attended the Tea and made it a success. A baby shower was held at Mrs. Linda Costa's for baby Bryan Levigne. Helping were Tammy Mineau and Mrs. Adrienne Levigne. A delicious lunch was served and many gifts were received. Welcome back from Tuscon to Mrs. and Mrs. Norman McCuaig and to Barbara Ann McLaugh- lin. Mrs. Joanne Landry and Keith from Cartier were visitors to the Thi- beaults. Happy 39th birthday to Lorraine Huard. A lovely cake was served by her Mom and fa- mily. On Thursday, April 28, Mrs. Sarrinen pre- sented the Cancer Society's Twenty Five Year Pin to Mrs. Winnie Campbell, Mrs. Beth McAdam, Dorothy Rum- mery, and Annie Niemi. Following the presenta- tion a lunch was ser- ved. Mrs. Sarrinen is the new President for the Schreiber Cancer So- ciety. Mrs. Ives Henri, Past President, thanked the Ladies for a job well done. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Campbell Sr. have re- turned from their va- cation in Mexico. Mrs. Georgina Davis and Mrs. Dora Weaver presided for the meeting of Ruby Rebecca Lodge on Wednesday, April 27, in the Chimo Club. The meeting was pre- ceeded by a Pot Luck Supper. Routine busi- ness was attended to. Mrs. Weaver reported for the Sick and Visiting Committee. A donation of $25.00 was given to the Cancer Society in Schreiber. Following the meeting the members enjoyed a social time playing Whist followed by a lunch of left-overs from the supper. Our Deepest Sym- pathy to Mr. Charles Boon and families on the death of Eleanor, a wonderful wife and mo- ther. Father Peter Groulx has returned from his vacation in Florida. Father Estok filled in while Father Peter was away. Our congratulations to all who worked so hard to keep the Schreiber High School open. Perhaps, if there is concern about this issue or any other matters pertaining to the operations of the Lake Superior Board of Education, you would contact the under- signed. CORE would be willing to convene an evening meeting to which the Manitou- wadge Trustees would be invited to answer the questions of the Community. In the meantime CORE will continue to monitor the activities of the Lake Superior Board of Education.
