Sift flour with the salt. Work in half the flour and beat till smooth. Cream the butter, gradually adding the sugar. When light and fluffy, blend into the first mixture. Add the egg yolks, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Work in the remaining flour by hand. Add only enough flour to make a light dough. Place the dough in a greased bowl. Grease the top of the dough with some melted but- ter, cover, and let rise in a warm, draft-free place until doubled in bulk, about 2-2% hours. Punch the dough down, then turn out on a lightly floured board and roll to 1/4" thickness. Cut into circles with a 2"' cookie cutter and place about 1'2"' apart on but- tered baking sheets. Cover and let rise until doubled in bulk, about 1/2 hour. Make a deep depres- sion in the centre of each roll and fill with prune filling (or cherry pre- serves). Let rise 10 min- utes. Dust with confectioners' sugar, makes about 36 buns. To make the filling, cook and drain the prunes. Pit and mash with a fork. Stir in sugar and cinnamon. Handy Hint If a dripping faucet keeps you awake, put a sponge underneath the tap. The sponge will soak up the sound as well as the water. If a rung of a chair has come out, mix sawdust with glue when you re- place it, and it will hold up practically forever. Don't sit on the chair until you are sure that the glue has dried.
