The Minutes were read and approved. The Financial State- ment was satisfactory and the auditor's report was excellent. The Bake Sale was a success and thanks go to Vi and Win for helping, and to all who donated. Corres- pondence was read by Anne Todesco. A letter from Mrs. Pjamaki was read on programs, planning and short courses. The Card Secretary reported that two cards were sent for birthdays and anniver- saries. A paper was given by Mrs. Josephine Hube- lit about 'Life on Light- house Keeping'. It was very interesting. A box of apples were sent to Birchwood Terrace for Easter. Many recipes were given for the new Brides Book. A Penny Auction will be held in Women's Institute meets May in the Town Hall. Gifts were brought to the Cancer Cupboard to be sent to Thunder Bay. The election of officers was held and Mrs. Dora Weaver was re-elected. Mrs. Salter was elected Vice-President and Myrtle Gordon 2nd vice- president. Anne Todes- co was elected Treasur- er. Next month will mark the Schreiber Wo- men's Institute's Sé6th Anniversary. The meet- ing ended with the sing- ing of 'God Save The Queen.' Ross appointed to LPH McCausland Hospital Administrator Don Ross has been appointed by the Ontario Minister of Health to the new Com- munity Advisory Board. The purpose of the Com- munity Advisory Board is to develop and main- tain effective avenues of communication between the Lakehead Psychiat- ric Hospital and the communities it serves. The Board will also as- sist in promoting com- munity awareness and understanding of men- tal health issues and the role of the Lakehead Psychiatric Hospital as well as providing a forum in which commu- nities can affect the management of the hos- pital in order to best meet local needs for psychiatric. Ross will be one of the twelve members of the new board which pro- vides broad representa- tion from all of North- western Ontario.. The board is one of seven being set up across On- tario in conjunction with psychiatric hospitals. The members of the Community Advisory Board for the Lakehead Psychiatric Hospital were appointed by the Minister of Health after receiving nominations from the Thunder Bay District Health Council and the Kenora / Rainy River District Health Council. Men's Slow Pitch league The sport of Slow Pitch Baseball will be offered in Terrace Bay this summer if we re- ceive enough respon- se. Slow Pitch allows the opportunity for all 10 team members on -the field to be part of the game. There is no slow or dead position in the field. The game con- sists of 7 or 9 innings and the Rover (10th player) is used. The pitch is underhand and must be arched higher than the batter's head at the same time during delivery. There will be an open general meeting to- night, Wednesday April 20 at 7:00 p.m. in the Conference Room of the Recreation Centre to discuss set up of this league. The League is open to any male 18 years or over, who is not plan- ning to participate in the Men's Fastball League. If you wish to partici- pate or enter a team, please attend this gen- eral meeting to get the league off the ground. It can be a lot of fun as a get together with the guys, once or twice a week.
