Page 10, Terrace Bay-Schreiber News, Wednesday, April 20, 1983 Teen Challenge Choir An exceptional Choir will present a unique program of music and drama at the Terrace Bay Public School Gym on Saturday April 23rd at 7:00 p.m. The choir consists of approximately fifteen young men who come from throughout Canada and some from the Unit- ed States. These men are just a representa- tion. of the men who reside at the Teen Chal- lenge Centre based in Hamilton, Ontario. The work of Teen Challenge for years has been a forerunner in dealing with drug ad- dicts and others with serious life controlling problems. According to a recent government sponsored research pro- ject, into the effective- ness of the Teen Chal- lenge program for drug addicts and alcoholics, this program is the most successful rehabilita- tion facility known today. The first Teen Challenge centre of its kind was started in New York City by Rev. David Wilkerson, who wrote the multi-million copy best-seller book called "'The Cross & The Switchblade:"' This choir has done many concerts in high schools, jails, churches, coffee houses, as well as appearing on television. The lives of young and old have been influen- ced by the unusual pre- sentation of the choir in each town and city they have visited. Be sure to attend the sacred music program for this area along with a friend, and see why this is indeed a unique choir! You will be stirred as the men share life experien- ces, and relate to the problems many of us are facing in our nation to- day. The public is cordial- ly invited to attend, no admission charge.
