Beta Sigma Phi's al! across Canada have taken a very live- ly interest in this our centen- nia) year. On the International Jeve) all chapters from across Canada donated to a general fund which was turned over to Mr. Lamb of the Nation Libra- Ty in Ottawa for the purchase wf the finest books available on the performing arts. These! books for the most part were) purchased in Europe by a rep- resentative of the National library on a trip there one year ago. Ten girls from Osh- awa were on hand to see the formal presentation of these books to Mr. Lamb by our founder, Walter W. Ross, at the conclusion of which a guided tour of the newly built library was enjoyed with a chance to see © purchases which were fe red in the show cases of the library. Under the jeadership of Beta Sigma Phi Oshawa council all; five chapters co-ordinated their pians for-Centennial year by all working hard on a _ Fashion show held in March. Although we are not a service organiza- tion we have always taken a great interest in the needs of the community and try to help, eut in various ways.
