Ron Fawcett of Whitby esti-| mates 2,000 hours of work will have been spent on the vintage 1912 Cadillac car by the time it ' Jeaves his Brock Road garage tomorrow. The car has been completely restored from its size 37.5 wheels to its copper jacketed carburators. Many of its parts, unavailable on the antique car market, were specially machined. Mr. Fawcett has been dealing in antique cars ever since he took his mechanic apprentice- ship on the Model A Ford at the Thomas Flyer costing up to $60,000. "Cars made in 1928 or before are antique cars," he explains. "But, then there is the 'classic' car like the Pierce Arrow, Packard and Lincoln and these, in many cases, create as much interest. The classic car usually means a hand-made rather than a production line vehicle." Mr. Fawcett said he felt the Edsel would become a classic- type car and explained that some cars became classic very quickly. "The 1955 Thunderbird "The old engines were not very reliable," said Mr, Faw-) The 1951 models were all ex- ceptionally good but they're making cars as good as ever right now."
