Var- num, a past president of the District Committee. Care in the selection of offi- cers was urged and each officer was urged to own and study the Auxiliary Handbook, particular- ly in relationship: to her own office. The highlight of the evening came as a surprise to the presi- dent, Mrs. Frank Gravelle. Mrs. John Collins, president of the First Oshawa Scout Group Aux- iliary, presented to Mrs. Gra- velle, on behalf of the Boy Scouts of Canada, a long serv- ice award. Mrs, Gravelle has served the Scout Movement in Oshawa both in the First Scout Group and the District Committee since 1955. She has held many executive positions, including a three-year term as First Oshawa Auxiliary president and is now in her sec- ond year as District Committee president. This new approach is expected to be in full operation by September of 1968 and is designed to create and hold the interest of all boys between the ages of eight through to twenty-three. Mrs. J. W. Sleep gave an in- teresting report of the Scout Conference held at Camp Bor- den last November on public relations. Two chartered buses and private cars had carried the Oshawa delegation to the conference.
