Following »the ceremony there were tours conducted by the members of the Board of Directors and committees and tea was served in the drawing room of the main building. The annual open house for program activities was held on September 2 and a great many new and former members sign- ed up fir classes and activi- ties. The new building makes it possible to have more physi- eal and health education pro- grames_ including Badminton, for seniors and juniors, arch- ery, lessons, keep-fit classes, basketball, volleyball and gymnastics. In addition, the usual classes in millinery, sewing, Crafts, painting and drawing, bridge and ballroom dancing are being conducted. The residence and food serv- ice departments continue to operate with the residence offering room and board to young girls away from home for the first time and to some ram eases referred to the WCA by other welfare agen- cies. These girls. are given counselling .by the residence supervisor or executive direc- tor, who work closely with the referring agency. The food service department, in addition to serving nutriti- ous, well-balanced meals to the residents, serves the public in its cafeteria and caters for weddings, teas, banquets and for community groups holding luncheon or dinner meetings in the YWCA building. In all its activities the YWCA strives to meet the spiritual, physical and mental needs of young women. It depends on public support through the use of its program and services by opening of the new addi- tion, the people of the community and through a grant from the Greater Oshawa Community Chest which supplements the income from fees, rentals, etc. 1966 OFFICERS Honorary presidents, Mrs. T.
