THEY'RE CATCHING MUSKIES IN 'SCUGOG' Years ago, Lake Scugog was known far and wide, including across 'the U.S. border, as a likely spot to land a record-size "muskie" --but that was long ago. It will be welcome news to the fishermen in this area to learn of the success enjoy- ed by two Oshawa anglers, in Lake Scugog, last Satur- day morning. Shown above are Nerman Gower (left) of 313 Drew street and his brother-in-law, Earl Moore, 702 Hortop avenue, with three fine "muskies", a total weight of 42 pounds. The biggest was an 18- pounder, 40 inches long; second best was 36 inches long and weighed 14 pounds and the small one, a re- spectable 10-Ib. muskie, 31 inches long. The two men report they have hooked at least 15 muskies in the past two weeks and landed six of them. They have been using a 'Heddon Vamp Spook"' and "Bass Oreno"' --for the experts who are interested in lures, Yankees Era Ended, Hit Cellar, Last 1913 By ED SCHUYLER Jr. Associated Press Sports Writer Ralph Houk knows how Frank Chance felt 53 years ago.
