ALLIN A well known farmer in Dar- lington Township for many years, Wesley R. Allin died, April 4, at the Bowmanville Me- morial Hospital. Mr, Allin, who was in his 96th year, was com- paratively active for his age yy until a week ago. lin and Jane Elford, the deceas- ed was horn in Darlineton Town- ship and farmed all his married life in West Darlington until about 1948. He retired to Bow- manville in 1951 where he made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Douglas Cole. Mr. Allin, who was a member of Trinity United Church, Bow- manville, was married in 1905. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Nellie Ann Dowson, in April, 1948. He is su vived by two daughters, Mrs. Douglas Cole (Bernice) of Bow- manville and Mrs. Norman Brown (Ruth) of Darlington Township; a brother, S. Charles Allin of Bowmanville; eight * grandchildren and nine great-) grandchildren. The funeral service will be held at the Morris Funeral Chap- el, Bowmanville, at 2 p.m. April 6. PENNELL The death occurred suddenly Mar. 30 at his late residence, 17 Greta st., of Harry Bryant Pennell. The deceased had been a resident of Oshawa for 60 years and was in his 82nd year. He was the son of the late George and Emma Pennell and was born in London, England. He is survived by his daugh- ter Mrs. Allan S. Evans of Osh- |awa and two brothers and a sis- ter in England. He ,was predeceased by his son, Warrant Officer Allen Pen- nell, missing on active service in 1943, also three brothers. Mr. Pennell was a charter member on Christ Memorial Church and in the past had been active in the Men's Club and the \Tennis Club. He was also en- velope secretary for a number of years.
