sme TEEN SCENE JUDY MACDONALD Teen Talks Of College In today's Teen Talk six students from OQ'Neill Col- legiate and Veeatienal Institute were asked te comment eon the possibility of an Applied Arts and Technology Col- lege (Community College) being established in Oshawa. They said: BRUCE SINCLAIR, 17, Grade 12: "I think it would be fine if the professors would be.up to standards set by professors in larger universities, such as Waterloo or Queen's. If not, it would be better to commute to get a higher education." RENE PLEAU, 17, Grade 12: "It is a good idea be- cause it would offer technically-inclined students a school closer at hand. They would not have to leave town to extend their education." NANCI RUSSELL, 18, Grade 13: "Good idea! For one thing, I think it would enable commercial students to fur- ther their education. It would also help students without sufficient finances te continue their education -- at home." JUDY MACDONALD, 17, Grade 13: "Oshawa is grow- ing. It can afford a college better than a iot of com- munities in Ontario." ROSEMARY CONLIN, 18, Grade 13: "An applied arts and technology college at present is not available te Osh- awa. I think we need one and it would be greatly sup- ported by students." CHRIS HAYES, 19, Grade 13: "I'm finished Grade 13 this year. I would like te continue my education while playing hockey, but Oshawa can't offer me anything. My only alternative will be to ge to work and play for the Oshawa Generals, meaning I'll be dropping a chance for ROSEMARY CONLIN CHRIS HAYES 25: an alt-color, thrill show fea- | | This | Sunday from 1.30 p.m. with last higher education."
