RENE PLEAU Ajax Ajax High School recently held its Student Council elec- tions and the executive this year will be: Peter Hall, presi- dent; Tom Dines, vice - presi- dent; Pat Wells, treasurer and Linda Smith, 12D, secretary. Even without the traditional "Blue" and "White" parties the campaign was an enthusiastic one and gave the nominees a real chance to run on their merit alone. The election assembly was a big hit and we seem to have dis- covered some new "starlets" around Ajax High, namely, those "'lovelies" from the senior football team. Another assembly pas held last week for Gord Trefzger, Ajax High's representative from the government-sponsored cen- tennial travel program. Fiona Thompson's entry of "Annales" was chosen as the title of the Ajax yearbook. The enthusiastic Annales staff is headed by Peggy Norris, editor. This.is the first issue of the Annales and the reception so far by the students has been prom- ising. In conclusion, congratulations to former Ajax student, Mary Ann Azzopardi, on her election as Miss Oshawa. Good luck in the Miss Canada Pageant. Also, the All 'Ontario girls' team played a exhibition game' with a challenging team from South Bend. The girls played a hard fought game and the South Bend team was defeated 15-13. The Russian teams were suc- cessful in all their games with the Americans losing by a few points. There will be a film of the game at some future date on Wide World of Sports. In be- tween games, we were enter- tained by some Canadian and Ontario table tennis champions. The choir wiener roast sched- uled for last Friday night was cancelled because of bad weath- er and will be held on Novem- ber 5. ROSEMARY SNOW 'Past' Problem For Portland LONDON (AP)--'I'm trying to live down my precocious past," said Portland Mason, once described as the world's most grown-up little girl.
