Listing decisions arising from its hearing here June 15 to 18, the federal regulatory agency also said it is studying religious broadcasting by radio stations. It suggested there was a "'re- newed interest" in establish- ment of religion-oriented sta- tions and it may be related to a change in policy by radio sta- tions in this field. Elaborating in an interview, Dr. Andrew Stewart, BBG chairman, said there seems to be a tendency to reduce the amount of religious program- ming. Long-standing board policy is to have religious programming incorporated into all stations rather than the establishment of specialty religious stations. SEEK FOR KITCHENER John O. Graham, president of CFGM Toronto, sought a licence for an FM (frequency modula- tion) station devoted to relig jous programming in the Tor-| onto suburb of Richmond Hill.} James D. Dixon asked for an AM (amplitude modulation) sta- tion for Kitchener in the same field. The board said it is '"'con templating a public hearing on) religious broadcasting early in 1966"" and promised an an nouncement. of its intentions} later.
