Campbell SPORTS EDITOR -- verything From Soup To Nuts' GREEN GAELS whipped Brampton Armstrongs 15-3 in their Junior "A" lacrosse game at the Civic Auditorium last night. The Gaels romped for 10 goals in the second stanza and that tells the story. The visitors were no match for THE Gaels, even though the homesters appeared a little weary, or were taking it easy, in the third period, when they only scored once, But then, they only let Brampton score onc in that time also, as they maintained 'complete control. Oshawa Green Gaels set a couple of records last night, to be written into their own club history book. It was their 1lth-straight win of the season, a mark unequalled in the OLA ranks. It also marked two full years (calendar years) that the Green Gaels have sent their hometown fans home, happy and contented. The last time they lost a game on an Oshawa floor, was on July ist, 1963 -- when they lost to Guelph. That was the night that club discipline was establishcd among the Green Gaels. On the previous Friday night, four of the top players of the team had missed a regu- lar practice -- so they were all suspended for one game -- the one against Guelph. It's likely they would have won it, with a full team -- but it was a valuable lesson. They've never had iiat trouble since! ETOBICOKE Terriers defeated Toronto Township, 13-9, in the only other Junior '"'A" game played last night., St. Catharines and Long Branch were to have played, but that one was washed out by the rain. The win moved Etobicoke into a fourth-place tie with the Brampton, Armstrongs. Mimico Mounties, second-place team in the race, were idle 'ast night, along with Hastings. Green Gaels' move into Hastings this Saturcay night and that will be a real test, as coach "Rock" Batley's boys boast a very impressive home-floor record o: their own this season, DIAMOND DUST.-- Wayne Auto Body Shop captured the UAW Picnic Softball Tournament title on Saturday afiernoon, ir a real thriller, over Quality Fuels, the title tilt going into an extra 8th inning before Wayne's emerged with their 2-1 decision, .. . OSHAWA TONY'S will not be playing their usual Wednesday night home game, in the Beaches League schedule, this week. NATIONAL LEAGUE teams continue their sizzling pace and yesterday, San Francisco Giants knocked off the league-leading Dodgers by a 5-0 shutout and it was the 10th win in succession for Juan Marichal over his favorite victims.
