24 TH OSHAWA TIMES, Mondey, June 28, 1965 THOUGHT BRINGS RESULTS And Now: Company Of Old Canadians STEWART MacLEOD 'AWA (CP)--A month or so ago, Liberal party whip James E. Walker suggested that older, retired Canadians be sent to developing countries in a sort of "senior service" ex- periment. _ Along with the proposed for- mation of the Company of Young Canadians, the MP for York Centre thought that older Canadians should be given a crack at helping new and under- developed countries. There are many older Canadians, he said in an interview, who are still in the prime of life, who are brimming with experience, and who would love to tackle a new new and separate organization specifically for older Canadians. "What I want, is to create an opportunity for these older vol- unteers to get overseas if they want to go, and I am really go- ing to urge that steps be taken to promote the use of senior Ca- nadians in existing organiza- tions." Canada's external aid organi- zation has no age barrier, and Mr. Walker says this may pro- vide an opportunity for many older volunteers. He plans dis- cussions with various external and voluntary organizations. Many of the letters he re- ceived came from ex-service- men in their early 50s, Others ere co ne ere rencescolepiy ae ats , Vanity Fair Junior Curve Foundations et Summer Specials f BLUE GRASS by Elizabeth Arden Blue Grass -- a laughing, lilting flower-happy fragrance.
