It was announc- ed that the Auxiliary Christmas party would be held at the Club 401 on December 12, at which time gifts would be ex- changed and that the Regi- ment Association Christmas tree would be .held MARRIED FIFTY YEARS --Mary's Studio Mr. And Mrs. Harry Kotyk Celebrate Golden Wedding Mr, and Mrs. Harry Kotyk celebrated their 50th anniver- sary recently at a dinner at the South End Restaurant with the immediate family participating, and a reception at the home of their daughter, Mrs. Joseph Drikewich, Bloor street east. Mr. and Mrs. Kotyk came to Canada from the Ukraine in 1912. Mrs. Kotyk was the for- mer Mary Marchin. They were married at Sarto, Manitoba, on November 8, 1914 and came to Oshawa in 1927. ais They have four daughters, Mrs. Joseph Dzikewich, Anne, Oshawa; Mrs. Samuel Cooper; Pauline, Little Britain; Mrs. UNITS, GROUPS John Belenduke, Sophie, Winni- ipegosis, Manitoba and Mrs. Donald Stewart, Madeline, Osh- awa, They have 13 grandchil- dren and 17 great grandchil- dren. The meeting opened with the rd's Prayer and the minutes being read. There was a good attendance for the month of November. A hat fashion show was held, all members wearing their own creations. If awards were given out I am sure a lot would have qualified. Some of them were made from aluminum pie plates, baskets, waste paper baskets and egg crates. They all were beautifully decorated with flow- ers, ribbons and bows. The members had a project to work on for the last week of No- vember. An essay had to be written on the advantages of dieting and being thin in pref- erence to being fat and eating) what was wanted. A date had been set for a Christmas party. The bride, the former Gloria Jean Sweet, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Percy Sweet, RR 1, Oshawa. The bridegroom is the son of Mrs. Frank Jones, Oshawa, and the late Mr. Reginald Brooks. The Reverend H. A. Mellow performed the ceremony. Mrs. William Brady, Oshawa, sang "O Promise Me": and "The Lord's Prayer" and was accom- panied by the organist, Mr. John Robertson. Given in marriage by her fa- ther, the bride wore a white velvet gown, fitted to the knees and then flared. A train more O.R.M.T.A. A "Do it Yourself" program with all the teachers partici- pating was the entertainment for the November meeting of the Oshawa and District Branch of the Ontario Registered Music Teachers' Association held in the home of Mrs. Jan Drygala. Verdi's "Chorus of the slaves," the Bach chorale, "Jesu', Joy of Man's Desiring" and Schubert's 'Hedge Roses" were prepared and performed. The performance was taped and played back for the enter- tainment of all 'The Chorus" was under the direction of Mrs. Drygala and Miss Judith Davi- son played the very fine piano accompaniments.
