Buchanan opened the scoring early in the first period when he took a pass from Bill Little in front of the Marlies' goal and flipped the puck over the pros- trate goalie Jerry Desjardins. His second goal of the same period came when both teams Bobby Orr passed to Buchanan to connect on the open side of the net. Brit Selby was the lone To- ronto marksman and Chris Roberts the other General scorer. It was Selby again who opened the scoring for the Mar- lies in the second period as he combined with Jack Chipchase to bring the Toronto club level with Oshawa. Bobby Orr put the Generals in front once again as he stole the puck from Wayne Mosdell and fired a low drive to the right-hand corner of the net.
