Mr. Gauthier, a na- tive of Sorel, Que., has been with the civil service com- mission since 1943. His new appointment takes effect Dec. 1. (CP Photo) Well Tenders Rre Called ORONO: (TC) -- The Ontario Water Resources Commission have now called tenders for the construction of a gravel-packed well for the Municipal Water Supply for the Village of Orono, The well which will be located in the "'V' at the north end of Mill street is to yield 75 gallons per minute. Tenders will be opened in Toronto on Tuesday, December 17th, at 3:15 p.m. This is the first step in con- struction of a Municipal Water system for Orono and it is now expected that tenders will be ealled for the watermains, pump house and stand pipe some time in December. Final preparations are now being made towards this move. Recently soil tests were taken en the site for the water stand . 'The location, just south of cemetery on the Ralph Wil- lis property has proven satis- factory, according to those con- ducting the test. Soil samples were taken to 2 depth of twenty-five feet when a most solid base was struck.
