This TOA THE OSHAWA TIMES, Tuesdoy, November 10, 1964 All Saints Guild, Whitby Have A Total Of 144 Members The women's organization of All Saints' Anglican Church, Whitby, is known as 'The Par. ish Guild." Every woman in the congregation is a member. Most members take or have taken an active part in church work. The Guild is divided into four groups. First the Chancel | a Guild with duties, as the name implies, such as care of the chancel, preparation of Holy Communion, arranging flowers. The membership of this group numbers 20 with Mrs. Ronald Carter as president. The other three guilds are known as working guilds, and hoki their respective meetings im the Sunday school. The Sen- jor Guild is the Afternoon Branch, with an active mem- bership of fifty, who meet the second Tuesday of the month and are presided over by Mrs. Charles Daly. The Evening Guild has a roll call of fifty four. It meets the | first and *hird Mondays of the | month. President is Mrs. G. A. Scott. The Young Women, known as St. Margaret's Guild has twen- ty members. It meets the first and third Thursdays. President is Mrs. Deane Fry. The pur- pose of the guild is to unite the efforts of women in church work, worship and friendship, also to support church projects, welfare work, visiting sick and shut-ins, welcoming newcomers, raising money with bazaars, teas and garden parties, and to assist the wardens with their commitments. Women Teachers Sponsor Workshop On Mental Health The Oshawa Women Teach- ers' Association is a profession- al organization, who last year had as their major project, a Mental Health Workshop, held Jast Janiary. Other activities include a Welcome Tea for new teachers each September, and a Christmas banquet with West- mount and Cedardale. Schools convening it. Their big project for this sea- son is the Regional Assembly to be held in Oshawa in the spring.
