Today jTAETEL we The League in Oshawa com- menced 47 years ago under the Readership of the late Mrs. David Coull. Today there is a membership of nearly 200. It consists of an Afternoon group who meet every Tuesday and eeven groups who meet twice a month in the evening. All groups e@re geared to the four-fold pro- gram of the Home League. In Mary Street H-S -- Salvation Army Home League - Has Membership Of 200 all groups, handcrafts, sewing and anything of interest to women is taught. The main pur- pose of the Home League is to build the Kingdom of God with- in the hearts of women every- where. Each week there is a de- votional period led by different members and group leaders to create interest. These are based on the four-fold program of home life, spiritual devotion, service to others and fellowship. The women. of the Oshawa Home League do a tremendous job every year in the commun- ity. Last year they raised $3,752.97. Out of this money the missionaries throughout the world have been supported. Home missions are looked after. The League has adopted a little eight-year-old Korean _ girl. Christian literature is dis- tributed to hospitals and nursing homes. Flowers and fruit are sent to the shut-ings and sick. Baby layettes are given out when needed. This league caters to the Golden Age of Simcoe Hall every year then provides them with an evening of enter- tainment. Donations are given to such local projects as the Community Chest, also The Sal- vation Army Roblin Lake Camp, Belleville. Through the efforts of our Special Effort secretary, Mrs, William' Saunders, the members were able to place the beautiful large Salvation Army Crest which sits on the wall of the Citadel. such progress during the years MRS.
