They are quite expen- sive and are not economical to use for hunting. Both glass aluminum will take a great deal of punishment. Alum'num can be straightened unless buckled. And glass -will only break from a hard glancing blow. FISHING For this purpose a heavier arrow is required, wood is not practical, for it is too. buoyant and, upon hifting the water, lessens its velocity. Some use fiberglass. The point will have to be a barb that will expand once the arrowhead has entered the fish. For light fish a simple spool mounted on the bow will store and feed off line as the arrow is fired. For heavier fish, attach your arrow directly to a line of a regular fishing rig. Due to short range usage arrow fletching is not required. HUNTING This realm is divided into three main parts, Field, Broad- head, and Blunt arrows. The general characteristics of the hunting class of arrows are, made usually of wood for econ- omy, matched in weight, strength and spine for accuracy, and are fletched with longer e. An advantage the four blade tip has over the two blade is the four blade cuts a flap of hide, opens nore veins and anteries as well as leaving blood trail to be followed by the hunter. The blunt anrow is used to kill small game with shock. This is possibly the only appli- cation of killing with shock im the archery field and can only be used effectively on small game, rabbits being a . prim example. | UAW League Playoffs -- (If Fi: Sus rogpegh sig Cottagers'Inecessary) -- Ward's Billiards . @ num jan.
