RS Ns actrees At age pes ate AS irc THE OSHAWA TIMES, Saturday, September 12,1964 § | "FRIDAY: | NITERS" Friday Nite SEPTEMBER 18th Bowling Nite 7:00 P.M, County Bowl. BYRON ST. NORTH WHITBY New Members Welcome MANN, OR MICE? Buckle Down, Old not well enough to win, They will have to pull their socks up tonight, or it will be hang them up until next year. That is for most of the players any- way, as we understand that Brampton will pick up three local players if they are fortun- ate enough to oust the locals in this series. | Manager Morton, along with |his coaches, Ken Crawford and iBill Vipond have a big job on ltheir hands now. They have to ltry and get these fellows up for the game that can deter- mine just who is the better team. It has been a long hard series and one little break |could well decide the issue. On Thursday night the Brampton team aided by some questionable refereeing took ad- vantage of three penalties to the Brooklin team and scored on these occasions, It is tough to beat a good team like Brampton but it is a heck of a lot tougher to beat a team and the referees. Mind you the referees did not score any goals but they sure did not give the Brooklin team a fair shake, and that comes from fans who were at the game as well as some of the local executive. Tonights game will be a different issue altogether, We feel that the Brooklin team do not want to let a full season's play and a lot of hard work go flying' out the window when the big apple is well within their grasp. We expect to. see a banner) crowd at the local arena to- night and we want to hear plenty of vocal support. We know that Brampton, with their avid fans, will be there in good cheering voice, so lets see if; the Brooklin fans can be just as cheerful. That added spark from the fans helps the players more then many people realize. To the players: The fans of this area are mighty proud of you. You have done a fine job to date in bringing Brooklin the Brooklin - provided them with many hours of enjoyment, and we {ce} sure that if you win tonight that they will support you just as well and perhaps even bett@r as you make a bid for the grand prize of.Sr. lacrosse--the Mann Cup . ..
