EXECUTIVES HONORED The event, conducted by a special committee formed of players from the teams of the Oshawa City and District Soft- ball Association, for the pur- pose of paying honor to the executive members and to the sponsors of the teams in the league, was also taken as the opportunity to present the vari- ous trophies won by the teams and individual players, during their 1963 season. These presen- tations highlighted the program. Chairman Terry Kelly, after introducing the head table guests, called on each, either for a short address or to offi- ciate in the presentation of one of the trophies. The Hon, Michael Starr re- called that he had played soft- ball under the banner of the OCDA, in his youth and con- gratulated the officers and teams for their fine operation since inception. The Ontario softball body was formed in 1923 and Oshawa affiliated with the OASA in 1925. Albert Walker, MLA, in his remarks, also congratulated the softball men of Oshawa for their leadership and active pro- motion of the game in this city.
