Such debate, of course, has ranged long and ,loud across the Province as police departments generally have protested the inclusion of such assignments on their general duty-tist. This much is now clear in regards to Oshawa--the Police Commission was unsuccessful in its recent bid to unload such duties on to other civic departments, effective next January 1, as proposed in its letter of last October 8.
