~ RANGER NEWS Crusader Crew Making . SRS CRUSADER - Christmas is drawing near and we're up to our elbows again in wax. Yes, candle-mak- _ ing. Wednesday night was the first session and since it takes a while to get back in the knack of handling that mushy stuff I imagine there was more than one wobbly candle _ resulted from that venture. Mary Ann Cardinal volunteer- ed the battle area (by the way, welcome back Mary Anne) and our self-styled designers were away on their little fling. But gosh it's awful hard scraping that wax off walls and tables and I'll bet Mrs. Cardinal will be sweeping up glitter well into the new year. Bath salts their day in the crew together with the rash of sneezing it seems to bring. These three items, decorative candles, bath salts, and cakes have been our best selling projects for the past two or three years and sup- ply a good deal of our crew funds. So watch out, everyone is out to sell as much as they can. Our biggest fund-raising pro- ject combines all three of the above plus anything else we can come up with. It will be our Christmas Tea (which is really a bazaar in disguise). This. is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 14, at Guide House, 120 Simcoe Street south, here in Oshawa. At this we will display samples of our joint and_ individual handiwork. This should be fan- tastic. In addition to our, three former wares we will also be selling home baking (if you can't eat it I'm sure it will make a lovely ash-tray), candy, needlework (this I've got to see!), and anything else that anyone can come up with.
