Kiwanettes Aid Westmount Club Members. of The Westmount Kiwanettes are all wives of members wf the Kiwanis Club of Westmount, Oshawa. The charter meeting was held in January, 1963, at which time the officers were elected: Presi- dent, Mrs. C. A. Powell; vice- president, Mrs. W. K. Zimmer- man; secretary, Mrs. A. M. Moore; treasurer, Mrs. J. M. Waddell; reception, Mrs. D. E. Thompson, house and telephone, Mrs. R. C. Bowes. Dinner meetings are held the first Tucsday of each month. The main purpose of the Ki- wanettes is to inform. the women on Kiwanis and to as- sist the Westmount Kiwanis Club financially, and in ser- vice work. An annual financial contribution will be made. 1963's having been forwarded already. In service work, m2m- bers assist with the month'y Blood Donor Clinic, and nelp out at the Hillsdale Manor Gift Shop. Donations will be made from time to time to various local charities. Christ Church | Evening Guild Has Goal In View The first meeting of the Evening Guild of Christ Church was held in November 1938 with Miss Irene Barton as president and Miss Irene Payson as sec- retary-treaurer. Charter member of the Guild were: 'Misses Dorothy Beamer, Irene Pawson, Gwendolyn Paw- son, Irene Barton, Ella Gibb, Emily Lytle (deceased); Mrs. Carmen Lott (now of Lewiston, New York); Mrs. Cleve Fox end Mrs. E. Burgess. The purpose of the Evening Guild has been to raise money for the immediate needs of the ehurch and in this project they co-operate with the other groups ef the parish. The spring and fall bazaars are two of the main events held each year. During the past year a special effort has been made to retire the bank loan and when this purpose has been accomplished a@ Service of Consecration will be held. It is hoped this will fake place early in 1964. The Guild undertook catering more extensively this past season and included weddings, a re- union dinner, a shower, silver and golden wedding anniver- sary parties and an afternoon tea. The Guild, with the other women's groups of the Parish, arranged a reception for the Confirmation Class and their friends and during the Anglican Congress a reception was held for the Right Rev. E..F. Hen- derson, DSCDD Bishop of Bath and Wells, England, who was the visiting clergy at Christ Church. The contributions made fo funds outside the parish in- clude, The Primate Relief Fund, Anglican Congress, Parish Wel- fare, Bible Society, Theological Fund and Sunday School Cara- Van. Assistance is given the Red Cross by providing volunteers for the Tuck Shop at Hillsdale Manor. The Guild has a membership im the Canadian Association of Consumers and one of the mem- bers acts as liaison office', The Evening Guiid meets at 8 p.m. in the Church Parlor the first and third Thursdays of each month and attends the Communion Service at 10 a.m. the fourth Wednesday of each month. The present executive is: Mrs. H. D. Cleverdon, honor- ery president; Mrs. W. M. Mil- fer, president; Mrs. F. G. Knowler, vice-president; Mrs. Stanley Gales, secretary; Miss Winifred Drayson, t urer.
