Oshawa Times Photo Oshawa's Annual All-Ontario Junior Softball Tournament Could Be Biggest Ever Held Oshawa softball fans can look forward to another very attrac- tive event when the Sixth An- nual All-Ontario Junior Softball Tournament will be held at Al- exandra Park, on Saturday, July 6, under the auspices of the Oshawa City and District Softball Association. Secretary Alex Donaldson re- ports that the entries are com- ing in at a rapid pace and everything points to an even better tournament than any pre- vious one. A total of nine entries. The Binbrook Cleaners club and the Slee Lum- ber club from Galt both have been highly recommended by the OASA officials and should give all opposition a battle, The Rock Haven Junior club, from Peterboro, will be remem- bered by all the fans who at- tended last year's tournament. Under the capable management of Bert Bailey, this club almost upset the Scugog Cleaner club in the first round. Parker's Cleaners of Bur- lington, with Jack Willis in charge, always have been a NINE ENTRIES So far the official entries re- ceived by the Secretary are as follows: Scugog Cleaners of Shamrock AC Trophy Races After two weeks of .competi- tions, for the E. Scarboro Lions Juniors will also be a big attraction as this is the club which eliminated our own Oshawa Scugog Clean- ers club in the 1962 OASA play- offs. 'Rich' March should be after this club and it's possible that they might meet each other in competition, The Slee Lumber club from Galt has been together for a number of years and in pre- vious seasons has won All-On- tario Championships in both the Bantam and Midget Divi- sions. They now are a power- ful Juvenile "A" OASA club. Oshawa will be well repre- sented with Scugog Cleaners out to defend the title which they won last year. Chris Mason's Genosha Aces is another strong local entry and Peoples Cloth- ing's classy Juvenile "A" club will also be very much in the picture. Paul Shody is confi- dent that the Juyeniles will more than hold their own. The Kent Clothes Junior "A" entry from North York, should also be a strong club as there are many fine softball players in this district.
