Battling for a play-off posi- tion, the Imps had to win this one in order to stay in conten- tion and it was only after a 'terrific three-game series that the locals came through. Jim Cassells was given the all-important lead-off position and started off with a three-bag- which sparked the other joys who responded so well that} they all bettered Jim's score for a dandy 1384 first game to 1208 for the Jarvis crew. The top man in this game was the "Flying Dutchman" Ed Lugtenburg with a 344, followed by Bob Gallagher 276, Reg Hickey 267, Gerry Bennett 254 and Jim Cassells 243. Joe Bash for Stan Jarvis, was bowling very well and came up with 288, Tom Moccasin 251, Dick Brooks 229 and sponsor Stan Jarvis 228, were best for the losers. The second game also went to) Heffering's boys when the one,| two punch of Dutch and Porky, with 305 and 303, coupled with a nice 284 from Sel Himes, set She stage for a 1309 team score to outhit the Jarvis boys who had 1240 Unaccustomed to this kind of treatment, the Stan Jarvis club went all out for the third game and racked up a dandy 1323 team score to top the Heffering boys who rolled a respectable 1227 total. Bob Gallagher, the top aver- age shooter on the Heffering squad also had a good night with 276, 301 and 231 for 808. Reg Hickey whacked in quite a few important strikes and his 747 total included games of 267, 217 and 263. Sel Himes also star red with 284 and 224 for 508 for the two games he rolled, | Jim Cassells started very well but ran into a string of head pins and settled for 426 for his two games. Gerry Bennett went all the way for a 663 total but his first game of 254 was a very| important one as he finished! very strong when it was need-| ed. Dave Reynolds who also went on a "picking spree", had| 400 for two games. Anchorman Moccasin led the| Stan Jarvis club with 251, 236 and 323 for 810, Joe Bash was close behind Tom with 288, 229 and 272 for 789 and Ted Sypul-| ski also. bowled well with 211, | decision.
