Demand for the hand- crafted articles was so heavy that it was not possible to fully tabulate returns until the pres- ent date. The auditorium, both tea rooms and adjoining halls were crowded with visitors. Opened by Mayor Christine Thomas at 2.00 p.m. following a very short and simple cere- mony, the bazaar tables which were loaded down with hand cakes, pies and fancy baking of all descriptions. Afternoon tea was served in both the main dining rooms and in the residents' lounge and thc congestion experienced last year was eliminated and wait- ing reduced to an absolute minimum.
