Courtice White Gift Sunday On December 16 By MRS. CHAS. CARPENTER COURTICE -- The Courtice United Church Sunday School teachers of the primary classes met at the home of Mrs, Don Cowle recently. Mrs. Don Thompson and Mrs. Harold Graham set the date of December 14 at 7 p.m. for the Children's Christmas party. Each teacher will -prepare two numbers for the program and 'also take care of selecting and securing the gifts for their' classes. : White Gift Sunday will be De-| cember 16 Mrs. Wilson Neil and a re- presentative from the senior Sunday school will be in charge. The senior Sunday school will not have'a concert but will have a showing of Christmas Films on December 23. John Petterson will be in charge of securing the tree. Mrs, Earl Gatchelle and Mrs. Bob Johnston suggested that buttons be given to each child and Merit awards given at the end of the year. This was ap- proved by all teachers. Supplies for the primary will come from the United Church Publishing House. Beginners class will continue with their present paper. A Church parade was held at Courtice United Church with the First Courtice Brownie and Guide Troops; the 18th Oshawa Cub and Scout Troops taking part. Rev. John Romeril conducted the service with Cheryl Bran- ton reading the Scripture and Mark Penfound taking the re- sponsive reading. A surprise party was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Sonny Fenton in Oshawa, in honor of their parents Mr. and Mrs. Myrle Reeson. The party celebrated the couple's 25th wed- ding anniversary.
