Schreider's law studies were the reason Rough Riders traded him away this year. They didn't like the idea of him commuting between Toronto and Otiaws durirng football season. Toronto Argonauts tried to make a deal wih Lions for Schreider's services but were turned down. Lions offered to loan Schreider to Toronto for the balance of the season in ex- change for Argos' first draft choice next year. Argos didn't go for it. Schreider has been attending classes at Toronto and hasn't practised since Sept. 9, the day he left Lions after a game at Torono. He's been expecting to be traded. Reynolds has not been signed, a club spokesman said, but un- der Canadian Football League rules he is allowed to attend five practices before the Alou- ettes are forced to sign or re- lease him. At the: same time, the club said inside linebacker Dick Schnell, taken' to hospital Mon- day with suspected appendicitic, has been pronounced fit to play. He will return to practices to- night the club said. Reynolds, a 23-year-old two- way player, showed up at the club's front office Tuesday and jasked for a tryout. | The Alouettes were interested, since at that time there was some doubt about Schnell's con- dition. Schnell's return will raise an- other problem for the Alouettes. Linebacker Bill Hill, a recent acquisition from Edmonton Es- kimos, had been placed on waivers Monday shortly before the. Alouettes knew Schnell had been taken to hospital. Hill was later hurriedly re- called for duty in the event that Schnell's condition was serious. An Alouette official said Tues- day the team had no intention of; placing Hill back on waivers. ATTENTION GOLFERS Who Extends a Hearty EVENTS:--Cnhampion for the flights; No. 9 hole; Times.
