(CP)-- A government plan to integrate Indian pupils of the Saugeen Red serve into a public school here has been cancelled due to "'op- position of the Indians." The Southampton school board was told of the decision in a letter from H, R. Rodine of Toronto, superintendent of Indian schools. The plan tc send 135 Grade 7 and 8 Indian pupils from three reserve schools to the G. C. Huston Public School in this Lake Huron community was started three years ago. At that time, the Southampton school board agreed to inte grate the Indians and 350 non- Indian pupils and archiects were called to design an addi- tion to the school.
