CASTOR REVIEW Meditorial by Rev. James Paul On my recent vacation in England, I encountered a sermon etched in stone. In the famous naval port of Plymouth, there stands against the sea an eighteenth century lighthouse. It's antiquated gas lamp and mirrors have long been extinguis- hed; however, it now gives guidance to men on the sea of life. Chiselled with care on the inside of the lighthouse this verse from Psalm 127:1 is found, 'Except the Lord build the house, they labor in vain that build it". Think for a moment on the impact of this verse. Can it be true, as the Bible states, that all man's labors to build a house (i.e. life, marriage, family) are futile, unless God is doing the building? Yes it is true, for the Lord of the Universe is not advocating phy- sical inactivity, but rather, spiritual dependence. If you want to build your house aright, allow Him to be the Master Architect. Be sure to read and obey His blueprint - the Bible. With every passing day, apply the mortar of His love to your marriage and family. Finally, invite the Master Architect - the Lord Jesus - to rule on the throne of your life, so that all your building will be directed by Him. Born at Russell, youngest daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs Chester Loucks, Kathleen attended Russell public and continuation schools and later became a Registered Nur- se. She served in the Canadian Army Medical Corp. during world war II. Survivors besides her husband are two daughters Doris and Cheslyn, two sons George and Claude, two sisters Mrs. Michael Wolfe (Margaret) of Trail B.C., Mrs. James 'Campbell (Jean) of Prince Geo- rge B.C. and one brother Lloyd of Thunder Bay. Warner Honoured Another of Russell's illustrious citizens has been remembered at the Kinnaird Arena. On Sept. 18, a plaque was unveiled by Thyra Hudson commemorating the na- ming of a foundation planting in front of the arena after her father R. M. Warner. A few words were said about the life of Mr. Warner and Mrs. Hudson thanked the horticultural society for the thoughtfulness of the planting.
