House League Comment ~~ The House League System of Osgoode Township High School is gone right down the drain. Last year I thought House League was just the right thing for us students. In most of the teams, there was more than plenty of participation and we needed to have substitutes every few minutes. This year we had more than Plenty out for football and soccer but since then most people just go home after ninth period. They cut house-league from one hour and thirty minutes down to 45 minutes. You can't even have a decent game of basketball or anything. Right now only 5% of the OTHS student body show up. We are. lucky to eve have house league during the day. About one month ago, mr. Franklyne tried to get a Trike Race going between the houses. The only house that showed up was hiw own (Kent). The rest of the other houses (Michener, Chimo, and Tekerila didn't bother to get anything - organized. That is what I call bad participation from the other houses. If we get a big increase of students in the next house league session we might be able to get house-league back to our normal time. Now, on the bright side.of things, the stands in House League are Chimo with 1054, Kent right behind with 1045, Tequila 76 behind Kent with 959, and last place Michener, who incidentally were champs last year, have a grand total.of 878.
