1 1 to pass that way again? How can a person run, free and wild, down a white sand beach - and then smash a bottle on it so he dare not make the same run back? What makes a man pay big money to fly into a wild lake to fish and then camp, uncomplaining, beside a garbage dump crawling with flies and worse? And, apparently without a quiver, add his load of mess to the pile while he's there. How is it that people have come to think that creeks and rivers are logical and convenient places to dump their wastes? I just don't understand. Nor have I, or anyone else, discovered a solution to the conundrum. It's a quirk in the make up of men. Education, I suspect, is the only hope. When I was a Boy Scout we had a game. Go out to a designated site, camp overnight and leave the place such that the next patrol could not find the spot where tent or fire or woodpile had stood. I can still play that game and I'm proud of the fact. I was well trained. If people could be educated so that they would do things right out of a sense of pride rather than because they were badgered into it, we'd be home free. And that philosophy can be applied to a lot of "things". BUS. 445-2818 RES. 445-2899 ERIK THERKE .SEN & SON NEW HOLLAND MACHINERY sales and service WANT ADS FOR SALE: Aprons and small gift articles.
