De GIRL GUIDES _ Six girls from the lst Russell Girl Guide Company are in the process of taking their Bow Paddler's Canoeing Badge. The canoes were loaned to the girls by Dick Sherwood. The instructors for this course are Dick Sherwood, Dean Loucks, Bruce Rowsell and Greg Sherwood. SCOUTING NEWS - CAMP OPEMIKON June 28th was the first day of Camp Opemikon. The pickup point for both Cubs and Scouts for the Ottawa area was at the Boy Scout building on Baseline Road at 9.00 a.m. We travekked to camp in buses and on our arrival were separated into Cubs and Scouts. There were four tents for the Scouts with one patrok in each, The Rats, Ants, Arrowhead and Lighthouse were the names of the patrols. In the week that folLowed we had swim tests, canoeing and sailing. We also hada one-mile swim,
