Mr. and Mrs. Don- Hunter again had two grandchildren from Stouffville for the week- end. The Hunter's attend DEPARTMENT Mrs. Payne, leader of the Guide and Brownie Mothers, is somewhat pained because the ladies are not as inter- ested as they might be. Here is her note to them which I will quote: "We held our ' PORT PERRY STAR - Wednesday, April'l4, 1971 - 3 --_-------- --- mother's meeting on Tuesday afternoon with the large at- tendance of 4. Where was evrybody? We wanted to plan a telephone euchre but this was rather hard to do with such a small attendance. However we are going to have it from Sat. 17th until Sat. 24th whichever night -| through the week is conveni- ent. If you would like any information call, 985-2720. I would appreciate it as [have no idea how many homes would be holding them. The cost is 50c. per person. Please phone your high scores to the -| above number or 985-3097." The Tupperware party last Wed. sponsored by Unit 2, U.C.W. was a huge success. They had the houseful that they had hoped for. The same unit had a meeting at which they decided to have Uncle Benny Wilson & Band of Oshawa present a musical program on June 5th. Here is something differ- ent for us, Mr. Jansen's new JUST garage is about complete so he had a "Garage Opening" on Saturday night. The main activity was dancing On Sunday we had an Easter service which was a bit special in several ways There was an attendance of over 100. Mr. Bruce Carr sang "The Holy City for us and the choir had an Easter anthem. We even had an Easter lily. Mr. Critch was in charge although he was to enter hospital in the af. ternoon for surgery on Mon- day. Word on Monday night is that Mr. Critch is as well as tan be expected. We hope for his speedy recovery. U.C.W. is scheduled for Wed. evening. We have certainly used our share of space, but did you see all those "Mr. Wana- makers" on the front page of last week's Star? When he lived back here he an- swered to just plain Glenn.
