The Ontario Amateur Soft- ball Association held their 49th Annual Convention in Sarnia the past week-end. Port Perry was represented by Mr. and Mrs. Jack Cook, Jr.. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Ven- ning and Mr. and Mrs. Vin Walker. Jack Cook is the president of the Port Perry Minor Softball Association; Wafne Venning is Ist Vice} AAS.A. President. The meeting proved indeed rewarding for the Port Perry Association when Vin Walker was elected 3rd Vice Presi- dent. An amendment was also was almost Mustangs Tied After Two Games In All Ontario Midget € Finals Cy Wilson's Musangs tra- velled to Dresden on Friday evening and were defeated by Dresden, in a game that the players and the many fans that travelled to see them play were amazed at the way the team fell apart in the middle of the second period after outplaying Dres- den in the first half of the game. The first period McCoy scored with assists going to Heard and Young. The second period McCoy got his second goal of the game with He: assisting to take a 2 to 0 lead. Dresden then scored 3 goals in the second period to take the lead and the third period Dresden scored 9 more without a reply from the Mustangs. Let's not see this continue ed from McLaughlin & Jack- son to end the first period, leading 4 to 1. In the second period Dres- den got goals from Houston and McFadden to cut the lead to 1 goal at the end of the period. The third period saw Heard score his third of the game with assists going to McCoy and Nightingale. Dresden then came back and got goals from Martin and Brewer to tie the game at 5 each. The game remained that way till the end of the third period and forced 10 minutes over- _ the overtime period Bedell scored for Dresden to take the lead but the Mus- tangs fought back and got goals from Cochrane with Nightingale assisting. Then Heard scored the winner with Bourgeois and McCoy Assist- ing to take the game 7 to 6. Penalties in the game were the Mustangs 5 and Dresden 7.
